Hair pcs for you?

I think I am supposed to blog about the past 2 days show but I have not organised the photos yet so I think I will blog them another day. We had so much fun and nonsense that day it was quite unusual. LOL, even Ang joined in our craziness.

Ok, that aside, I am going to talk about hair pcs. LOL, yah again!

I don't know since when I become the hair pcs middle-woman but here I am passing orders and helping people to buy hair pcs. The hair pcs maker can make customized hair pcs too~ I have tried a few times to custom make my hair pieces with the materials I like. So now, I got many sets of hair pcs with sui zi! I am so crazy. LOL.

Anyway, if you wanna buy hair pcs or guans, custom make or not, can inform me by this week K? Cuz I am going holiday on 5 July... LOL. You can give me photos of the hair pcs or guans u want to make too. I will pass it to my maker and ask him to quote u.

Evil Concubine

Tomorrow, I am going to act as Evil Concubine, Ke Fei. I have memorised everything but I am afraid I might forget something tomorrow because Ke Fei's words are repetitive. I hate repetitive lines because you will tend to get mixed up.

You may come to see the show on Sunday, 3pm and 8pm, but I will not be acting any prominent roles on those 2 shows. I will be doing soldier at the afternoon show and princess for 1 scene at the night show. The princess role, as I said before, is a vase role. No lines, no songs. Just need to doll up and look pretty that's all. Hahaha...

If you wanna see tomorrow's show, then unfortunately, it's for invited guests only. Therefore, I don't think my friends will get to see me do Ke fei. It's a pity because I would like to know how I did for an evil concubine. I seldom do evil roles so it will be good if someone can be there and comment on how I did. Though I have done evil roles before, I am still not good at it. Like I said, I have got smiling eyes. So it's quite hard for me to glare at someone. LOL

Nonetheless, I hope tomorrow will go smoothly.. no hiccups. Wish me luck!

Hair Pieces

I specially ordered this set of hair pieces because I want a set which combined all my favourite colours and materials. So, I asked the maker to use gold, pink, ribbons and sui zi. All are my favourites. The result was a set of astoundingly beautiful hair pieces!

I asked my mum to hold the back part for me but I think it doesn't look good like this so I put the wig on my head instead..

My mum is a very bad photographer. She did not arrange the hair pieces nicely before taking the below photo. So it looked a bit messed up. Still, you can see it's very sweet right?? Awww.. How sweet... pink!

This set arrived today but my mum didn't tell me till I got into my room. She hid it behind her back and asked me to guess what has arrived. Immediately I know is my hair pieces lah. I have been waiting for it leh!

Is it nice? I can't wait to use it for the next show! woot!

Xue Ding Shan 2

Hi all, on 13 June, a beautiful night, we acted Xue Ding Shan & Fan Li Hua again. This time its an 'all students' performance. That's right, our main pilar, Ang, didn't act that day. She will be WATCHING us act and scrutinizing every single thing we do on stage. That is very stress lor, even more stress than acting with her on stage. Then again, there is a good part too. She can help out with everything from make up, hair styling, music, mic control, costumes... Name it. She can handle anything.


First of all, she helped my mum to stick the moustache. Hahaha.. Cute right? I think my mum look very very different with that moustache on her face!

And then, another exciting thing is the return of May Teng. She finally plucked up courage and decided against ALL odds to act with us. She should! Because we are her loyal friends, because we were there when she was down, because we will always be here to support her. Therefore, she cannot foresake us no matter what. You hear that? May Teng?


I am not a selfish dan, I hope May Teng will be back to act with us~





She is trying to stick on her favourite blue lashes but I think she is losing it cuz she took like 30 min and the lashes still won't stick.


A few weeks ago, I believe you guys saw my wedding photos though they only feature me, not the groom. Well, I thought that we don't really match so this time, I changed 'husband' and we took some wedding photos together. Lol.





My new 'husband'. Apparently she finally managed to learn this role in a few weeks time. Of course, I had to rehearse with her like a thousand times when we were free. I almost died. I apologise for my oily reflective face. The reason is that we were all too rush. The place is too hot to do opera! No air con! I was sweating like hell even before I go on stage. I had to keep putting powder on my face.


I was so rushed that day that I hardly had time to take photos. I promised EC that I will take more photos but I don't have time. So too bad, I only got a few here.

How do we look? Are we matching? My 'husband' handsome right... hahaha. Many audiences felt that we look compatible. I think so too because we both have big faces.

This is QY and she is the eldest wife. It's sick to share a husband I think. I dunno how the people in the past can do it. Yucks.

May Teng, still looking good although she is pregnant and hasn't done opera make up for ages. I told her she looked good and she felt so flattered that she can fly.

That's all for the phoos. Very few right? Bobian. I really have no time to take photos. Heng, a friend of mine was there and he took some. I will try to get from him and post.

That day, many people commented that we did well and we improved. I think Ang is very happy to hear all those compliments. She was all smiling and did not grumble much. Though I think she will grumble abit when she starts watching the vcd and scrutinize every single movement. That's alright though. We can know which areas we can improve on. I am happy that Ang doesn't feel too disappointed with us. She has taught us a lot and it will be very ungrateful if we still don't do well.

Xue Ding Shan

Fan li hua, this role which May Teng has been wishing to do but she gave up liao. Yday, I did an excerpt of this show at the marriage scene, the part where Xue Ding Shan tried to kill FLH. The whole show was only 30 minutes. Good enough cuz we didn't have much time and I got lots of things to learn lately.


Miss Tan got promoted. She is now Miss Tan Kim Deng. Look at her wig, it's new and it's the first time she is using it. It's nice to have a beautiful wig. lol... It wasn't easy for her. She practiced very hard on this role though she only made a short appearance. I think overall she still did quite well.

Miss Doh Xian Tong. I think qy looked good. Her make up improve and with her nice new wig, she looks much better and younger.

Me, my wedding day~ Never give me ang bao ah!!!

My mother as the Tia bek gong. Lol, she looks so funny wth the funny moustache. Ang has forgotten to bring the beard so apparently she has to draw on thos fake moustache. My mum is a kan cheong spider. She was very very nervous about this role. She said there were too many lines to remember but I think she remembered them well. She is just too nervous.

The 3 wives. Lol, so sad lor, I be the third wife. Miss Tan said I should take a photo with Ang but I think she is very busy and not in a pretty mood. Too bad lor, perhaps I should have taken a photo with her.

Nontheless, you can still catch a glimpse of everyone with the below video. Hee hee... Ang was half prepared so she looked a bit funny la. You can also see Miss Tan's very funny expression in the video..

YH didn't act yday so she can be the audience. Overall she said the performance was not bad lah, not many big mistakes but I was nervous at the beginning. Hmmm, think acting with ang is always some what nerve wrecking. Then after awhile I become more natural.. Of course natural lah, Ang was very violent leh. She got many chances to slap me but though she didn't really touch me I can feel the 'energy' from her. lol.

The most handsome eunuch

Recently we have many performance notices. So many that we don't really have enough time to prepare. COI want us to act 'Han Dan Ji' on Mid Autumn Festival which I think will be a disaster. A show like han dan ji will never appeal to the gzx audience. Especially when the script is in a mess, the audience won't know what we are acting about. Basically, you will only see many people running in and out of the stage but have no idea what the story is about.

That aside, we are also acting ramayana again soon. Yesterday, I went for the rehearsal and surprisingly Miss Tan was there. She is not acting in Ramayana so I have no idea why she is there. Apparently, she thought that we are going to rehearse another show. LOL, she said she was kana tricked to come.

Ang started off teaching my mum how to be a eunuch. The usual steps of walk out, turn around, walk 3 steps and stand one side. Miss Tan at this point suddenly shout,"Teacher, I never do tai jian before leh!"

All eyes on Miss Tan.

Teacher: You think you can be tai jian?
Miss Tan: Can~ Tai jian is nice.
Zhuying: Aiyoh, the taijian costume very big one leh! you cannot wear.
Me: Skinniest tai jian ever.
Miss Tan: I think I will be a very good tai jian.

After a good laugh we continued the rehearsal. Throughout the practice, Miss Tan kept reminding me that she has never done eunuch before and why Ang don't let her. I told her that's because she is too skinny and the costume doesn't fit her.....

Before we end the day's practice, ang once again teach my mum how to do the eunuch role and Miss Tan mimicked the actions.

Me: Miss Tan, your aim is to be eunuch issit?
Miss Tan: I want to do it leh, looks fun.
Me: No ambition leh you. Ang trained you to be dan liao but your ambition is to be eunuch.
Miss Tan: Wrong. My ambition is to be the most handsome eunuch.....

Then later on, she kp that I changed her photo in the poster I made. I told her that I can't use the photo she submitted cuz that photo is a big head photo, no body. She insisted that her photo nicer cuz the make up everything is nicer. Haiz, I told her no choice lor like that. Arbo I put ur face on my body la? With nice nice costume one.


She said ok.

So I went home and 'transfered' her head to my body. The result was good and ang couldn't tell that miss tan's photo has been doctored. LOL. Of course, I have to make Miss Tan's head bigger cuz I am fatter than her mah. She so skinny. And I got to adjust the brightness and the hue to match my body also.

Photo Shoot for Ramayana

I can hear you groaning," Not again.....!"

Yes but it's again. Again we are going to do Ramayana but this time, each opera type will be acting one scene in Ramayana. The GZX team was assigned to act in the second scene. The scene where the princess is a mega vase. No lines, no songs. Nothing.

I thought that it's good. Then I can just doll up and stand there, be a vase. In the end, Ang ask me to learn the role of the evil concubine, Ke Fei. My second baddie role. So now, I will be acting one day as a vase princess and one day as Ke Fei. Ah May has been wanting to do this role for a long long time but too bad, I will fulfil her dream for her.

Fortunately, I have learnt some tips about doing baddie from the Gao Wen Ju show. It proved useful during our first rehearsal last week. Ang didn't kp much. Thank god. I am rather excited about this role now because it's a change. For once I am not a damsel in distress. Lol. And some of Ang's fans are actually looking forward to see me do baddie. Ok la. I try my best but no promises that I will do well. My singing still sucks.

Talk so much, now back to the photos shoot. We took these photos like 2 weeks ago but I never blog cuz I lazy and too busy watching movies online and playing games. Hee hee. Too many things to do and too little time! How? Recently, I started my french class level 2 again. So my week is rather packed.

Ok, once again, I wore Ah May's white costume. In case you wonder why I wear it often, below are the reasons:

1) My mum say this costume easy to fold
2) The theatre is clean, wear white no need scared dirty
3) I want to use my red hair pcs and only this costume can match it this time
4) Other people are not wearing shiny costumes so I wear this white one which is not shiny. My other costumes are shiny.

Btw, I took photos as the princess, not ke fei.

Ok.... My new hair pcs! So glad to finally use them. Ang said they are nice too. :)


Nice right? My new hair pcs, so easy to put and so nice! Some more the maker gave me special discount on this set! So it's value for money!

The princes from all the different opera types! Lol.. and ang is the shortest prince among them. No choice leh. The one in blue is Lin Hong. I think he either sing huang mei or yueju. I don't know.

Tonight got practice again. Must work hard!

Mu Dan Ting

Awwww.... I have finished all 3 days of Mu Dan Ting and am feeling rather empty right now. I miss the stage, the beautiful voices and the graceful movements. I should be grateful that I am able to see this. It has been what I was hoping for for years. Those who didn't watch it during their 3 days show here, you don't know what you are missing.

My 3 days of tickets. My seat was pretty good, I can see clearly with unblock view. On the last day of the show, I decided to buy the DVD of Xi Shi just outside the theatre. Partly because I want the DVD and partly because they give away a nice paper bag when you buy something!

Nice right??? Some more it's pink! My favourite colour.

This was the DVD I bought. It's a remake of the famous tale of Xi Shi. I haven't watch it yet.

And if you buy the DVD, they will give you this performance magazine for free. If not, you got to buy it for $20.

Inside the magazine, there are lots of beautiful photos of my favourite mu dan ting.

Tadah! My collection from the 3 days of mu dan ting watching. I didn't regret watching them and the feedback for this show was really good. Yayi, Susan, Feng, all of them told me this show is really worth watching. Yayi especially noted how well they sang. I told them, I would watch this again if ever they come back to Singapore to perform the second round but I doubt so.
